HOUSTON AT MONGTOMERY A client purchased a derelict property that had formerly been an auto dealership in the hopes of transforming it into a mixed-use property. The proposed design preserves the exterior brick shell. A central courtyard space defines two commercial lease spaces on the lower floor and provides vertical circulation to six new residential units above. The new metal-clad industrial forms contrast the existing brick shell and compliment the adjacent industrial neighborhood. Balcanies, porches, and the central courtyard are softened by wood plank cladding. ared Tredway was lead designer and project manager for the project at David Baca Studio, developing the schematic design, and the design development drawings.
